Still need a few of the "proper" clues and i haven't got the theme yet! Help please.

24D ON REPORT an anagram of N + TROOPER

24 d is an anagram of n (new) and trooper - "on report". Like you, I have no idea of the theme yet - "Round pound and penny" rings no bells. I have just 2 left of the clued lights - 3 d and 17 ac. For 3 d "assemblage" fits, but I can't see it.

"Round pound and penny" = OLD?

I don't know what that implies as I haven't got the crossword.

Thank uou, AJH. The one you query is Aegean - A E - and GEAN is a wild cherry. I'm pretty sure now that the theme is "old" I've found "gentleman" round the edge. Unfortunately I haven't got Brewers.
